Hi! CPS #206

This week's CPS Sketch (#206), which I fell in LOVE with instantly because of that big circle!!! Papers are my absolutely number one favorite thing about card making. Everything looks good with some nice paper! In fact, I believe that so much so that I just can't make myself use up my favorite paper ever and also the very first paper I ever used to get started on this scrapping journey almost two years ago. (By the way, it was October Afternoon's Cherry Hill collection. I think I will have to craft it into a project that I will keep for myself...)

Anyway, after that paper dedication, here is CPS #206:

And here's my version...and I love this paper too:

CPS really is helping me be a faster card maker because I busted this guy out on a school night with master's homework too!

Materials:

Cardstock--Stampin' Up Crumb Cake and Real Red
Patterned Paper--The Girls' Paperie
Ribbon--Offray
Pearls--Kaiser Craft
Button and other ribbon from my stash

Good Times!

I am so blessed to have less master's homework this week, which means I have been crafting more!!! In fact, if I get this show on the road tonight, I will have done at least some type of crafting for four days straight! Whoo hoo!

So I had a 40% off coupon and picked up this embossing folder by Provo Craft, hoping it would work in my Sizzix, and it totally did! Just looking at it calms me right down and makes me want to go for a hike or listen to my favorite group ever, The Rankin Family. Ahh...so calming. I also told you my paper flowers would appear again, and here was my first-ever attempt at a paper rose from the Tim Holtz die cut. Love love love you Tim Holtz!

Another totally fun Kristii-inspired tag. Lots of Distress Ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, embossing, crackle paint, and of course, that paper flower!

Ahh, I am liking naturey themes more and more...

CPS #205

Well, to be honest, I was really not very happy with how this card turned out! I was trying to use up scraps (success there) but ended up with it look much more plain than I wanted, and at that point I decided to give up and put my energy into something else. But, the card was already done, so why not post it to the drawing anyway, right?

The good news is that I got to use up some scraps that have been hanging out with me for WAY too long, and all of them were some of my favorite papers that I have ever had. In fact, a couple of them go back to the FIRST papers I ever had! I absolutely love everything October Afternoon, so it was hard to say goodbye to those polka dots! I also love the Cosmo Cricket scraps in there too!

Supplies:
Cardstock--Stampin' Up
Patterned cardstock--October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket scraps

Happily Ever After

This weekend one of my two beautiful best friends got married to an awesome guy! She looked absolutely like a princess and the wedding was gorgeous! Look at her dress! They got married outside! It was lovely! I made her a little recipe book using my Stampin' Up set since she really likes practical gifts and this was the gift tag I made for her other *fun* present. :) (Thanks Kristii for all of the inspiration with tags!!!) I pray that Lindsay and Philip will have a long and happy marriage!! I love you guys!

A Beautiful Day

Wow, I am LOVING my Stampin' Up stamps! These are from the Countryside and Farm Life sets, and oh, they are just right up my alley!

Anything summery or fallish seems totally appealing right now! It's just that time of year to wish for sunshine and GREEN! Obviously, some animals don't mind either way. Our kitty, Wincie, was so brave! She was jumping around, chasing the dog, and almost doing backflips in the blizzard!

Cowboy also LOVES the snow and cold. After a walk, he doesn't want to come in but just wants to roll around or just lay around in the deepest part he can find. He sat out there as still as a statue for 20 minutes before I made him come in!

Skippy was the only smart one of the whole bunch. After "helping" me shovel...more like chasing the shovel around...he was happy to stand at the door and watch the other two loony bins freeze their buns off!

I really need to get scrappin' on these little guys. There's nothing like a pet to show you unconditional love!

Relax!

Oh what a great weekend! I had just a couple precious hours of crafting time, and I spent it learning to make three or four different types of paper and ribbon flowers! Flowers are one of my very favorite things to put on a card, so this box-top paper flower is a perfect fit for me! I also tried spirals, triangles, scallop circles, and ribbon thanks to Kristii!!!

I thought this particular card would be perfect for the teacher I student taught with who is helping to pass on her 32 plus years of experience to many student teachers, including me! She is talking about retiring soon, and she certainly deserves to relax after so many years being such a wonderful influence on everyone at school!

Thank you to my awesome monthly crafting club which met last Friday night. I was too worn out that night to have any creative juices, but their amazing creativity rubbed off on me for the little bit of time I had this weekend! It was also a GREAT way to spend a Friday night with friends. I think I did my ugly laugh SEVERAL times since I was laughing so hard. Thank you awesome ladies! I can't wait until next time, and you are inspiring me to look into a chipboard album!

More paper flowers to come!

Love is in the Air!

This card is for my wonderful husband for Valentines day! I used some leftover scraps from our wedding album, so it was fun to use up what I started with five years later! I know, that's a long time to keep a scrap, but I knew I would use it eventually!

This sweet card is for one of my very best friends in the whole world because she is getting married next weekend! I loooooove Tim Holtz's crackle paint!
