Mojo Monday #298

Here is this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.  I love the little banners peeking out the side!

Here's my take on the sketch.  I used washi tape to make the banners and had to let my wild side out to get this one finished.  :)

Time Flies

Hey!  Has it really been 3 weeks since I last posted?  Yes.  Has it really been 3 weeks since I last did some crafting?  Yes!  What?  I find that I have a very hard time...okay, impossible time crafting when I feel stressed then suddenly 3 weeks go by with nothing!  That's just life I think.  "Time flies" seems like the perfect sentiment for so many reasons.  I am planning to send this to one of my very best friends who I haven't talked to in a while.  It'll be perfect.

I made this card for the Shabby Tea Room Week #164 challenge.  The challenge was to use the colors in the photo they posted (seriously beautiful pinky purply lilacs in blue mason jars, gorgeous) along with lace, flowers, and ribbon.  How fun!

I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday #291 except that my card isn't round or square like the sketch.  (I think I won't be entering that challenge will I?)

On this card, I used papers from Pink Paislee and Stampin' Up.  Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

Honestly, everyone needs a "Thinking of You" sentiment.  I've used it on two out of three of my latest cards.  This particular one is from Papertrey Ink, and their sentiments are always just the right size for cards.  I made this card for a friend at our church who has cancer, is undergoing another round of chemo, and is not allowed to be out and about because his immune system is so weak.  He definitely needs someone letting him know we're thinking of him!!

Mojo Monday #280

Check out this super cute new paper from October Afternoon!  Their "Cherry Hill" line from a few years ago was the very first scrapbooking kit I bought, and it really made me fall in love with paper crafts.  I still have some of it squirreled away just waiting for a special project. But along the same line, this is their new(ish) Farm Girl line.  It is so bright and cheery!

I loved this week's Mojo Monday sketch because of all the layers...so easy to showcase beautiful papers!

Mojo Monday #279

So Valentines Day is this week!  I think it's sort of a silly holiday, but it is SUPER fun in my classroom to watch first graders get so excited about celebrating friendship, and of course, eating candy hearts.  I'm also trying really hard to use up my Valentines kit from last year, and I'm getting pretty close.  Two 12 x 12 papers left, and a few punch outs.  Not bad!  

Cards are the perfect way to use scraps, so here they are!  Here is this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.

And here's Take One on the sketch.  I just have to say when I first got this paper, I was not too excited about the greenish-yellowish stripes.  Now I'm sad I have just used it up!

p.s.  Every paper crafter needs a white gel pen.  Honestly.

Mojo Monday #274

I got into using this week's Mojo Monday sketch by using up some leftovers from layouts.  I love how the orange and blue pop in this line!

Mojo Monday #273

This week's Mojo Monday sketch was perfect for using up some scraps I've had of Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather line!  Loved that line, but I have almost used it up, which is actually quite an accomplishment for a paper hoarder like me.  As in, I have one kit that's a year old, and I haven't used anything in it because I love it too much to use!  Isn't that ridiculous!

So here's my take on the sketch with a little leftover Christmas joy.

Baby, Baby, Baby

I know you've been wondering since my last post what happened after 2:38 p.m. right?  Mojo Monday #265 happened!  

I had this new paper stack from Echo Park and knew it was going to be the background of this card right away.  Then after I saw the colors and polka dots assembled, I knew it had to be a baby card since everyone I know is having babies.  What a cutie little lion on that stamp huh?  Stampin' Up that one.  Plus I got a white gel pen on that craft run to Michaels...see I knew you were wondering what I bought...ANDILOVEITSOSOMUCH!  Again, why did I not have this before?  

Time for birthday dinner!!  Yippee!

Mojo Monday #252

I think this whole A-New-Sketch-Every-Single-Monday thing is really going to be workin' for me, so thank you very much Mojo Monday #252. 

At least for a few more weeks until school starts and everything is crazy again anyway.

This card was so much fun!  I have never tried a shaped card before (why is that?), so this week's sketch was a great push for me to get thinking!

The whole entire thing was made with papers from February's My Creative Scrapbook kit which had all of these lovely Crate Paper beauties in it.  (This is the same kit as The Kit I Thought I Hated--but that I really really really loved.)  

The good thing is I have a head start on Valentines Day for next year for my hubby!
