This year's tags

Last year, my scrapbooking group started a tag swap, and we decided to continue the tradition this year.      I thought the world might enjoy seeing our creations.  :)

My tag--totally continuing from last year's theme and inspired by Tim Holtz

Aren't they so fun?  I love all my tags and think of my friends every time I see them!

A Little Tag

Just a little tag for today that I made a long time ago using a bunch of Tim Holtz goodness.

See?  That's just one more little birdie I have in my stash...  :)

Christmas Tag

We had so much fun with our tag swap!  I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time!  Here is one of my finished tags; it's my take on one of Tim Holtz's Twelve Tags of Christmas from a couple years ago. The best part of it was trying out alcohol ink for the first time. And of course, there's my Christmas Lodge again. :)

I will probably be MIA for a while because I'm having foot surgery and we're moving!  I'm in the process of trying to put together a craft pack to take with me to the temporary house.  I think it needs to be about the size of a big suitcase though...

Stampin' Club Night!

I had so much fun (like I always do) last night at our Stampin' Club! My sister is such an amazing artist in so many ways! She showed us the mother of pearl technique, and we used aqua painters and hand-dyed ribbon!

You can see the pearlized background above. All of this was handmade! What a beautiful stamp set as well!

Thank you, Jessica and my other crafty friends, for the fun night, beautiful card, and new ideas! (See her blog on the sidebar: The Unrepentant Craft Addict)

This is a tag I made last weekend that was more experimental than anything. I watched Tim Holtz's Distress Ink tutorial and tried to use it. This was actually second attempt...first attempt was a major fail. I still couldn't get the vivid color that he got though (maybe my stamps need a refill?)

Off to more tries today! Happy weekend crafting!

Spring Break

Ahh, what a nice break. Here are a couple of this week's creations. I have struggled a bit with spiral flowers, but I think we're getting there!

I started this Mother's Day card without any theme or idea at all, but I saw this tissue paper and knew I had to use it! Then a bit of lace that my mom gave me last weekend and it had to be her card! This lace must be at least 30 years old! I thought she would like to have a bit of it back. :)

This was also my first attempt at making my own lace flower, and it was easy and has such a cute effect!

Good Times!

I am so blessed to have less master's homework this week, which means I have been crafting more!!! In fact, if I get this show on the road tonight, I will have done at least some type of crafting for four days straight! Whoo hoo!

So I had a 40% off coupon and picked up this embossing folder by Provo Craft, hoping it would work in my Sizzix, and it totally did! Just looking at it calms me right down and makes me want to go for a hike or listen to my favorite group ever, The Rankin Family. Ahh...so calming. I also told you my paper flowers would appear again, and here was my first-ever attempt at a paper rose from the Tim Holtz die cut. Love love love you Tim Holtz!

Another totally fun Kristii-inspired tag. Lots of Distress Ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, embossing, crackle paint, and of course, that paper flower!

Ahh, I am liking naturey themes more and more...

Happily Ever After

This weekend one of my two beautiful best friends got married to an awesome guy! She looked absolutely like a princess and the wedding was gorgeous! Look at her dress! They got married outside! It was lovely! I made her a little recipe book using my Stampin' Up set since she really likes practical gifts and this was the gift tag I made for her other *fun* present. :) (Thanks Kristii for all of the inspiration with tags!!!) I pray that Lindsay and Philip will have a long and happy marriage!! I love you guys!

Cards

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since July. Well, sort of I guess. July is when we went on vacation, I got back into my classroom, and started a new class. Still! Most of my crafting was done in short spurts but more over Christmas break. Ahh.

Tag made for the mini tree.

This card was made with my brand new Stampin' Up Lovely Trees stamp set, a paint dauber, heat gun, and lots of fabulous glitter. Glitter is always good.

Gift card holder card.

Card designed and done at a Stampin' Up Stamp a Stack by my sister Jessica.

Another Jessica creation.

This Week's Cards and Tags (so far)

I stole this design right from Papercrafts magazine; it was fun!

I got this "Live" die on clearance for $3.97!

I don't quilt with sewing, but I can with cards!

Another tag courtesy of Kristii at Simply Fresh!

May Cards and Tags

This is another tag with help from Kristii at Simply Fresh Arts. It was my first attempt at embossing...ps...you should shake the extra powder off, but I didn't. I liked how the mistake turned out anyway!

Obviously this was from a while ago!

This is a tag that was made at Simply Fresh Arts with Kristii! Isn't she amazing?

I am loving my new inks from Simply Fresh Arts!
