Moments

Finally a layout from the very first My Creative Scrapbook kit I ever received last November!  This kit came straight to my house and then almost straight into a box since I was moving, and I never thought I wouldn't see it again for seven months!  This kit was full of home goodies from Bo Bunny's Welcome Home line.

This picture of my cute hubby and me was taken right before he left for a two-week training for work FIVE years ago.  Really?  Where does the time go?  I remember being super sad he was leaving and super happy when he got back.  Isn't it weird how pictures can remind you of one exact moment and all the feelings that went with it?  And that's why that journaling strip is perfect.

Gratitude Challenge Entry

A couple months ago, I stumbled upon the CASE Study Challenge blog, and then as I was checking my updates the other day, I saw that my friend and scrapteacher Kristii Lockart was the July muse!  I always love everything Kristii makes (I could still use more practice tying a "Kristii" bow at some point, though, friend!), and I was so inspired by her little bird and collage feel!  Here's my entry for CSC101.

I also found the Mojo Monday blog as I was snooping through Kristii's blog just yesterday.  Seriously!?!?!?  How have I missed such great inspiration for so long???  I LOVED the sketch and was inspired to play along right away!  Here is the link for this sketch #251.

So as my luck turns out, this card fits the bill for both challenges!  I used all Stampin' Up papers which felt very August-y to me...that time of year when the sky is still summer blue but the grass and fields are turning gold...ahhh, I love that.  I actually have so many birds in my stash right now, I had a hard time choosing one.

I guess I didn't realize how much I love these little guys.  And another birdie set is on my wish list!  Sheesh!

So this little guy from Provo Craft was THE ONE, so I fussy cut him out and used Crystal Effects to gloss him up.  I just love how he turned out!  I used Stampin' Up Naturals Ivory cardstock for a base, then stamped another piece of Naturals Ivory to make the second layer.

If you haven't been following CASE Study, Mojo Monday, or Kristii on her blog, check them out!!

I'm back!!!

Yay just guess what!!?!?!?  This is my first day in my new house with internet!  I can't wait to be inspired once again by all of your creations!  This is a card I made months ago, actually.  I made it for a little sweetie pie in my class last year who loved to shower me with gifts for every occasion, and she gave me lots of scrapbooking goodies!

Having access to more limited materials for the last 7 months helped me a lot I think.  As I unpacked our hobby room last weekend, I was able to prioritize the things that I really use often, and weed out some things that I haven't used in a long time and didn't miss.  I figured that if I forgot I even had it for the last few months, I didn't really need it.  Right?

Except for maybe I did keep a few things that I thought I might find a use for someday...like that roll of tulle...suggestions?

Happy Birthday Card

August is my mama-in-laws birthday, so I tried really hard to keep her card flat and easy to mail...as you can see...epic fail. But that cute little flower just had to go there! I think she'll like it!

Enjoy the Journey

Of all the cards I made lately, this was by far my hubby's favorite...so obviously here's one easy technique for making a masculine card! Thank you Papercrafts magazine for the idea!

Not all who wander are lost...

Because here I am! Soon we'll be moving to our new condo, and you better believe the first room to get organized will be the craft room! Here's a little tag I whipped up today.

The Kit I Thought I Hated

Hi everybody!  I'm not really back to my internet access quite yet, but I'm working late tonight and thought SURELY I could upload a couple things here that I have been working on lately.

I have officially been a customer of My Creative Scrapbook since November when I received my first kit.  That's FOUR kits folks.  FOUR.  And this is the first stinkin' thing I've done with any of them.  Okay, to be fair, two of them are packed out in the storage right now, and there is no way I can use them.  But last month's kit was lovely...too lovely to use.  Ugh, I hate that about myself.  I am a pack rat of like-new items that I don't want to use or get dirty.

The funny thing is that when I got this kit, it was by far my least favorite: February, you know, all Valentiney and stuff.  Then less than 24 hours later, these two babies emerged, maybe because for once I did not love this kit so much I couldn't bear to use it.  So at this point, I really like this kit.
